von Braun´s Review
A Tribute to a Legend – Lamborghini Jarama "Bob Wallace Tribute"
This is no ordinary Jarama. This is a machine with soul, purpose, and presence. A car that embodies an era of raw engineering and passionate experimentation. A car that pays homage to one of the most enigmatic figures in Lamborghini’s early history – Bob Wallace.
Bob Wallace was more than Lamborghini’s first official test driver – he was its heart, its voice on the road, and often its conscience. Born in New Zealand, Wallace cut his teeth in the European racing scene as a mechanic for privateer teams campaigning Ferraris and Maseratis. He worked with famed outfits like Scuderia Serenissima and quickly became known for his mechanical intuition and ability to turn fast cars into race-winning machines.
When he joined Lamborghini in the early 1960s, he became the man behind the wheel of every prototype. He tested, broke, rebuilt, and fine-tuned cars like the Miura, Islero, and Espada on the sun-scorched roads around Sant’Agata. But perhaps most intriguing were the personal projects he built in secret – radical evolutions of Lamborghini road cars transformed into lightweight, track-focused machines.
One such project was his very own take on the Jarama – a car many overlooked, but which Wallace believed had untapped potential. He stripped it down, modified the suspension, lightened the bodywork, and turned it into what many now consider the first true Lamborghini race car – even if it never officially entered a race.
The car we now present is a meticulous and respectful tribute to that vision. Based on a genuine Lamborghini Jarama 400 GT, this Bob Wallace Tribute has been restored and rebuilt from the ground up. Every detail, every line, every mechanical component has been addressed. At vonBraun.com you will find more than 60 photos from restoration and FIA certificate for the roll cage. The engine and drivetrain are fully overhauled to factory spec with select performance upgrades, while the body and paintwork are executed to the highest standard – finished in a rich orange tone that captures the light just like a true Italian grand tourer should.
The interior remains loyal to its heritage with subtle sporting cues, invoking Wallace’s stripped-down prototype without compromising comfort. This car has not only been built – it has been restored, preserved, cherished, and proudly displayed as part of Scandinavia’s most respected Lamborghini collections.
If you’re looking for a machine that tells a story every time you turn the key – a car that celebrates the unconventional, honors racing roots, and stands apart from the crowd – this is it. Lamborghini Jarama Bob Wallace Tribute – for the enthusiast, the collector, and the storyteller.
