von Braun´s Review
Stylish and iconic designed Ferrari 308 GTB with carburetor. Among Ferrari's variants of the 308 model, early GTBs with carburetors are the ones that have the most power and at the same time are the most valued on the market. This car appears to have been delivered new in California in November 1977 and was already sold from Arizona to Denmark in Scandinavia in 1988. During its time in Denmark, the car was never registered but is said to have been in a museum until the car was sold to Sweden in 2023. During its time in Denmark, a number of modifications were carried out on the car. Documentation also shows that the engine and gearbox have received a proper overhaul for approximately 250,000 Danish kroner (EUR 34,000). The car is therefore very pleasant to drive and runs well in both engine and gearbox. In the summer of 2024, the car was registered for the first time in Europe. Today, the car is registered and approved in Sweden and the entire EU. It only has 48,251 miles on the odometer, which corresponds to 77,200 km. Spare wheel and two keys. Original manuals and service book missing.
The body modifications made reflect design elements from the 288 GTO and 328 GTB. These models were developed from the same platform as the 308, so the relationship is in direct descending order. The split 16" rims that have now been fitted have been in von Braun's basement since the 1990s. The rims have the same centre design as the original rims for a Ferrari F40. Through the modifications carried out, they have managed to create a period-correct and exciting special design that arouses great curiosity and attraction. The tyres fitted to the rims are old. If you plan to drive the car regularly, we therefore recommend changing to new tyres. The car's black leather interior is completely original and untouched. It has a charming patina that makes the car give an authentic impression. A stainless steel sports exhaust system is fitted to the car, which gives the engine's sound a pleasant character. There are cosmetic details that have the potential to be refined.
A Ferrari 308 with a GTB body made of steel, 3 litre V8 with 4 vertical Weber 40 mm carburettors has become an interesting collector's item among Ferrari enthusiasts worldwide. Therefore, they also seem to increase in value for every year that passes. If you consider buying this car but still refrain, there is therefore a great risk that in 10 years you will be sitting and saying the same rhyme that we often hear people say. "Imagine that in 2024 I could buy such a Ferrari 308 GTB with carburetors for just over a million! Today you at least have to pay..." We usually never advise anyone to buy a Ferrari for speculative purposes, but if you buy with your heart and it can also be a good financial deal, it is a very nice bonus for both us and you.
The car is delivered to the new owner with a new service and timing belt change, which is included in the price. The most complete description of the car can be found at vonBraun.com including 35 high-resolution photos.
