von Braun´s Review
Very nice Corvette 1993 with LT1 engine and automatic transmission. The C4 is the fourth generation Chevrolet Corvette. It was introduced in 1984 and was produced until 1996. Early C4s (1984-1991) had only 225 horsepower. This car belongs to generation 2 and therefore has more modern interior and exterior as well as 35% more engine power with its LT1 V8 with 305 horsepower. The C4 was a ground-breaking model. It marked a clear transition from an outdated design and shape that lived on from the first generation C1 introduced in 1953 until the final Corvette C3 in 1982. The Corvette C4 was the first with a self-supporting body based around a composite and steel monocoque. Unlike the previous chassis which had the engine, transmission and suspension mounted in an old-fashioned frame structure, the C4 now received a complete interconnected drivetrain from the engine located behind the front axle all the way to the rear wheel drive. IN this way, all components of the driveline became a reinforcing detail in the chassis structure and the weight distribution between front and rear axles was close to 50/50.
The C4 also stands out with a more modern and aerodynamically efficient shape. The Marco Shark influences were now gone for good and the design had strong influences from European modern ideals. Among the various configurations offered, the targa model with opening rear window quickly became popular.
Our example was exported as new from Florida back in 1993 and has been registered in Sweden since 1996. Only two car companies have been registered on the car before a private person in southern Sweden bought it in 2010. This person has owned the car until now when he traded it in with us to fulfill a dream of owning a Ferrari. The car has been driven regularly. At the same time, it has been maintained to maintain a good condition. Von Braun Sports Cars has now had the car thoroughly inspected. A major service has been carried out where all fluids and filters have been replaced. After some updates, everything on the car now works and it is in overall good condition. The paintwork has been professionally reconditioned to regain its beautiful shine and the interior has been chemically and steam cleaned. A new, fresh inner ceiling has been installed. Lantern glass has been refurbished to eliminate yellowing and dullness. The rims are in good condition with no major corrosion or damage. We therefore feel that the car is in a better condition than the vast majority of C4s offered on the market.
The C4 and especially the generation 2 Corvette C4 is a very affordable sports car. Right now it most likely has its "all time low" in terms of value. We'd be surprised if specimens this fine don't cost significantly more to buy in a few years. The stylish color combination with "Arctic White" paintwork and a light gray interior is very tasteful and suits the model. If you want a nice sports car for a reasonable budget, the C4 is a good option. The term "targa" refers to the removable roof. It gives the driver and passengers an opportunity to enjoy the open sky, but at the same time be able to close the roof and get the same comfort as in a coupé.
The Corvette C4 had advanced technology for its time, including electronic fuel injection and an ABS braking system. In addition, it offered comfortable features for both driver and passengers, including ergonomically designed seats and modern entertainment systems.
This generation of Corvette also became known for its prominent participation in motorsports, including competitions such as Le Mans and IMSA. Its performance and design made it a symbol of American sports car culture in the quest to match sports cars from Europe and Asia. Von Braun Sports Cars expects increased interest in the C4, and in particular generation two, in the coming years.
