von Braun´s Review
This timeless icon has not only survived the decades, it has aged gracefully and is ready to take you on a nostalgic trip.
The Fiat 127 Berlina "Serie 1" was launched in Italy in 1971 and quickly became a popular model throughout Europe. Early 127s were produced in an attractive sedan design similar to its predecessor the Fiat 126. Later versions received a larger tailgate and thus became a hatchback. The charismatic Fiat 127 is perfect for city driving and was produced with several different engine options over the years. The engines were known for their fuel efficiency and reliability. Our Series 1 is equipped with a small 4-cylinder engine of 0.9 liters with 45 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 4-speed manual transmission. In 1972, the Fiat 127 was chosen as car of the year and continued to dominate the small car market throughout the 70s.
Despite the high number of cars that were once produced, today there are only a few Fiat 127s left in such a fine condition as this car exhibits. This is a time capsule with less than 70.000 km on the odometer since it was delivered to its first of a total of approximately 4 users in Sweden. Most often we find a Fiat 127 in the collections of conscious celebrities such as Michelle Obama, the designer Renzo Rosso and the actor Mikael Persbrandt. We also see the Fiat 127 in classic cult films such as "Bread and Chocolate", "La Haine" or "Göta Kanal".
This car runs like clockwork and will be inspected for the last time in May 2024. After that, it will be inspection-free for all time in Sweden and is already fre from road tax. The interior has been partially renovated with new upholstery on the front seats. Together with the rear seat, carpets and panels in very good condition, it represents almost new condition. It has been restored and painted to a representative finish several years ago and the body only shows marginal flaws. Brand new summer tires with narrow white sidewall fitted in the fall of 2023. A spare wheel and original tools such as a jack are fitted in the engine compartment just as it was when it was delivered to its first owner in 1975. The car is complete with 3 keys, original manual and historical technical and owner documentation.
