1984 - 2014

We were a few friends who started a slightly different kind of workshop in Skene in 1984. Its sole purpose was to fulfil our own dreams, but also other people's dreams, about cars. I remember how at that time we were a young, provocative newcomer. We were trying to turn a hobby into a business! In those days we often had to think hard in an attempt to understand the dreams of our customers, who generally belonged to an older generation. It struck me a few days ago that it's no longer like that. Now it's completely the other way around. Now we also need to think hard, but today it's because the customer base has suddenly become younger!

Focusing on sport, performance and classic cars with advanced new designs, renovations, events, competitions on race tracks and in showrooms has been fantastic. This has led to many interesting encounters along the way and has brought us an incredible amount of pleasure. At the same time there has, of course, been lots of hard work, packed with frustration, sweat and tears. Today, in 2014, when we can look back over 30 years, it's wonderful to see spin-offs from our business that today are established companies. It's also fun to see how others have ventured to start businesses inspired by what we have done. Together we can feel proud in saying that von Braun, after 30 years, now represents something of a Swedish original in the world of sports cars.

But we hope that what we have shown to date is merely a prelude. Now is the time for us to utilise our experience and set off down a new road with you and others, because in our world the front windscreen is larger than the rear-view mirror.

After a few years of ticking over, with a lot of work going on in the background, we are now starting to become ready to take a few steps forward again. Although we perhaps have several years of work ahead of us before what we think we can discern in the crystal ball can be expected to reach full fruition. But it's exciting to live in a world that every day becomes more global and gains greater pace and where the technical conditions are completely different than was the case in 1984. It is in this world that we intend to continue to develop our joint car dreams.
