von Braun´s Review
This Ferrari 330 GT Series 1 is a fantastic "Barn Find". Shortly after it came to Sweden in 1988, the car was set aside. It has then been left hidden and forgotten in a garage. The car's original color is dark blue "Bleu Notte" with red leather "Rosso 3171". It was delivered in 1964 to the first owner in Italy. It was bought by an American from Hartford, Connecticut in the United States and exported there in 1976. In the late 70s, the car was sold to New York. The owner from New York left the car as a trade in at a dealer in Long Island. The car was redesigned to its red color (Rosso Corsa) and in the early 80's the car was sold to a new owner in Mountin Brook, Alabama. Now probably the red old interior had been replaced by a black leather interior. Towards the end of the 80's it was time for a new shorter residence in St. Pertersburg in Florida before being exported to Sweden in 1988. In Sweden, the engine was completely renovated with new cylinder linings, pistons, piston rings and bearings. It ended up shortly thereafter in a garage where it have been kept for nearly 30 years. The body appears to be in good condition without any noticeable rust damage. Since the car has been covered with tarpaulin and blankets in its garage, blisters have been formed in the paint coating due to condensation. It therefore needs to be stripped to bare metal and repainted. The interior is very nice, but not in original color. The assessment at von Braun is that this is a favorable renovation project without the need for larger body renovation or motor renovation. However, cars that have been standing still for many years require a review of most things before they are back on the road. If you want the car in a fine exhibition condition, a comprehensive dismantling and assembly is required after all seals, gaskets, liquids, electrical connectors and surface finish have been reviewed and restored. von Braun Sports Cars can deliver the car in its current condition but also provide a restoration for the person who want to have an authentic new condition. The meter position is not verified and uncertain. Documentation regarding engine renovation is available. The history is verified at 330 GT Registry.
